Albert O. Berge, 87, of Route 2, Reedsville, died Wednesday, December 31, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. The Revs. Carl Peters and Oz Twedt will officiate and burial will be in Valders West Cemetery.
Mr. Berge was born June 4, 1893, in the Town of Liberty, son of the late Anton and Olena Gigstad Berge. He attended Liberty School, was graduated from Madison College of Agriculture and was a veteran of World War I. He married Melissa Theodora (Dora) Berge Nov. 12, 1924, at Valders and farmed in the Town of Cato until his retirement in 1960. Mr. Berge was former clerk of Quarry Grade School and past director of Valders Elevator Coop for 28 years. He was a charter member of Valders Lions Club, Manitowoc Memorial Hospital Association, Manitowoc Farm Bureau and a 58 year member of Valders American Legion. Mrs. Berge preceded him in death in 1963.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Donna Berge of Route 2 Reedsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Glenroy Jandrey of Route 2, Reedsville; three brothers, Orrin and Harold Berge of Sheboygan and Oley Berge of Fond du Lac; six sisters, Mrs. Belinda Bremer of Milwaukee, Mrs. Ann Reinertson of Carmel Valley, Calif., Mrs. Ruth Bleck of Valders, Mrs. Lillian Johnston of Whitelaw, ??? of Geneva, Ill., and Mrs. Alice Gram of Waterman, Ill., four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, 5 o’clock to 9 o’clock this Friday evening and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of service.
