Mary Jane Spencer, daughter of Howard and Nancy Houston Misner was born August 2, 1895 on a farm near Cumming, in Warren County, Iowa and passed away October 26, 1977 at the Iowa Methodist Medical enter in Des Moines at the age of 82 years. She grew up in the Cumming and St. Patricks community.

She was united in marriage on December 25, 1916 to Ira Spencer at Van Meter, Iowa. Their married life was spent farming in the Cumming and Booneville communities. To this union two daughters, Lillian Ulloa of Fullerton, California and Mary Lou Marquardt of Booneville, Iowa were born.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ira, her father, mother, two sisters and a brother.

Mary leaves to mourn two daughters, Lillian and Mary Lou, a sister Ethel Baker of Des Moines, Iowa; eight grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral service was held at the Booneville Methodist Church on Saturday, October 29 at 10 a.m., with Rev. Ellis Andrews in charge.

Pallbearers included Paul Lacox, Glenn Forret, Jay Forret, Lauren Boughton, Sam Allen and Leo King. Burial was at the Booneville Cemetery.
