Hobart was the son of Edward Nolley and Frances `Fannie` Miranda Harris, he had 1 brother and 3 sisters Mary Bessie Nolley, Joseph Earnest Nolley, Nova Ellen Nolley and Anna Lee (Nolley) Brewer

Hobart married Flora Belle Mardis on 13 Mar.1921, they had 6 sons Garrett Hobart Allan Nolley Jr., James Edward Nolley Sr, Paul Cleaver Nolley, Robert `Bob` Lee Nolley, Donald `Don` Nolley and Norman Nolley.

They moved from Kentucky about 1927 (between the births of Cleaver and Robert), they first moved to Morristown, Indiana,
where they lived for years until their house caught fire, then they moved to Shelbyville, Indiana where they bought a 2 story house for $2,000 at 225 W. Pennsylvania St. With the help of their son James, they remodeled it.

Hobart's Occupation was a Carpenter

He loved to chew chewing tobacco

He went into a Nursing Home after Flora died, he was in The Heritage Manor in Shelbyville and in The Morristown Nursing Home where he died.

They attended The First Church of Nazarene

He died from natural causes
