Shannon Troy Reed, 48, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes.
Troy was born October 20,1967, in Driggs, Idaho, to Charles Shannon Reed and Deanna Davis Reed. Born to a Navy sailor, he spent the first eight years of his life in Idaho, California, and Virginia. In 1976, the family came home to live in Idaho. He attended schools in Ammon and Iona, and graduated from Bonneville High School. He then attended Job Corps in Washington state. He later attended the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, where he received his certificate in Diesel Mechanics. @
He met and married Melinda Hannah in Twin Falls, Idaho. This marriage was blessed with a son, Zachary Marcus Reed Goodwin. They were later divorced.
Troy then moved back to Idaho Falls, where he met and married the love of his life, Lilly Kayann "Katie" Wiemer. In this marriage they were blessed with the birth of a daughter, Deanna Marie.
He was an outstanding and loving husband, father, brother and son-in-law. Troy was an avid outdoors man and a talented mechanic. Mostly he was a magnificent grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Lilly Kayann "Katie" Reed of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Zachary Goodwin of @Caldwell, ID;
daughter, Deanna (Eric) Simmons of Ammon, ID; sister, Shelie Power of Belfair, WA; two darling grandchildren, Jackson and Ivory; niece, Alexis (Jason) Gilding of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, uncles, cousins, father-in-law, and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
