WAUKE - June Juanita Forret, 89, of Waukee died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.

Brand Funeral Home in Dallas Center is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be give to St. Boniface Catholic Church of a person's favorite charity in June's name.

Daughter of Leslie and Bessie Griswold, June was born June 10, 1915 at Cooper. She was a graduate of Cooper High School and the University of Iowa with degrees in home economics and English. She taught in various locations in Iowa, Illinois and Indiana.

June married Francis Jacob Forret Feb. 7, 1945, and the couple lived on the Forret family farm prior to moving to Waukee in 1990.

She was a member of the Women's Club, Friendship Circle, and Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliaries and the Plus 50 Club. Following college graduation, eight close friends formed a Round Robin group that held reunions for over 50 years and corresponded throughout each of these years.

June and Francis traveled in the Unities States, and as members of Friendship Force to England, Germany, New Zealand and Australia. They spent the past 10 winters in South Padre Island, Texas.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Gordon and an infant sister, Jean Elizabeth.

Survivors include her husband, Francis; two daughters, Juanita Bosma of Buffalo Center and Marlene Erpelding of Westminster, Md.; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
