Dr. Larry S. Felts M.D.
(July 24, 1954 - December 31, 2015)
Born on July 24th, 1954, Larry Stephen Felts was the second of four children raised by Frank and Mary Jo Felts. He graduated with the class of 1972 from Nettleton High School and soon enrolled at Arkansas State University. He taught Science at Beedeville and then Lake City High School for a few years before deciding to return to school in pursuit of his medical doctorate. While studying at UAMS, he chose to focus on Psychiatry. He returned to Jonesboro in 1987 and began his private practice the next year. Dr. Felts worked with his patients independently for 26 years. In late 2014, he decided to join the staff of Hometown Behavioral Health Services in Hoxie. He worked alongside them until the last weeks of his life.
Among the loved ones who preceded him in death are his parents, his brothers Thom and Dan, his daughter Sarah, and his cousins Brent Gibson and Benjamin Wilson. Those to survive him include his wife of 38 years, Myette Felts, his sons Daniel and Stephen, his sister Anna Felts Wanhala (Cliff), his mother-in-law Evalyn Tolbert, his brother-in-law Kenny Tolbert (Connie), nieces Amber Kersey (Jarrod) and Autumn Tolbert (Darin Boles) , and nephew Kyle Wanhala.

There will be a 2:00 p.m. service on Saturday, January 2, 2015 honoring Dr. Larry S.Felts, MD., held at Emerson’s Chapel with Lanny Tinker and Lorne Hazlewood officiating. A private burial will directly follow the service with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements. Pallbearers will be Lester Wilson, Jarrod Kersey, Lorne Hazlewood, Cody Barnhill, A.J. Laird, Kevin Davis, Kenny Tolbert, and Ben Ring; Honorary Pallbearers to include the Staff at Hometown Behavioral Health, Roger and Sue Bullock, Carolyn Cooper, Vicki Russell, Cyndy Young, Al & Cindy Laird, Jodi Hazlewood, and John & Missy Ring.
