The Springdale News from The Siloam Springs Herald
Sulphur Springs, AR
September 22, 1893

Col. John C. Boone died at Sulphur Springs Tuesday at the age of 77 years. He was a grandson of the great Indian fighter, Daniel Boone, and was a member of General Sterling Price's Staff during the late war and was in active service during the whole war.

One of the most pleasant meetings between old comrades was between Dr. Samuel Jones (#48065243) of Clinton, and John Boone of Arkansas -- a grandson of Daniel Boone. They were messmates when they fought under General Price during his vigorous campaign, but they did not recognize each other when they met by chance in a physician's office this morning. One word about the war led to another and at last recognition came. Dr. Jones, who is more than 70 years old, was so affected by the meeting that he embraced his old messmate and soon both were in tears. They were inseparable for the remainder of the day and their faces brightened as they recalled each succeeding incident of their life in the war.

Hi Jenn and Jade,
I was wondering where you found Col. Boone being buried at Cherokee City? I have searched high and low and never found a crumb of where he was buried. Can I ask where you found him being buried there?
