David L. Archer Sr., 72, of Wadsworth passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 29, 2015. Born August 25, 1943 in Parkersburg, WV to Walter and Helen Marie Fox Archer. He graduated from Wellsburg High School and Kent State University.

Dave retired as a FTG-2 from the U.S. Naval Reserves after proudly serving 26 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, as well as, a long standing member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his devoted wife, of 47 years, Angela Borsellino Archer and his loving children, Alisa (Christopher) Stets and David (Jill) Archer II. Adoring Grandchildren Lauren Elizabeth and Alexander David. Mother Helen Marie Archer, sister Denise (Manual) Pandelos, brother Paul (Judy) Archer, sister-in-law Josephine (Thomas) Witschey and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father Walter "Bus" Archer, sister Bobea Sue Archer Smith, father and mother-in-law Joseph and Bianca Borsellino, sister and brother-in-law Mary and Richard Canestraro.

Dave was blessed with a loving family and many friends. He cherished the time spent with his wonderful grandchildren and always looked forward to the many family gatherings. He was always willing to lend a helping hand whether it was running an errand or repairing a pizzelle iron.

Family and friends will be received Sunday 1-3pm and 5-7pm at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home. 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, Ohio 44281. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Monday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 272 Broad St. Wadsworth, Ohio 44281. Interment with Military Honors will take place Tuesday at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Rittman, Ohio 44270. If attending the burial, please meet at the welcome center before 9:15am and stay in cars.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Medina County.
