Peter "Pete" Philip Hoffman
(October 31, 1933 - December 30, 2015)

Pete was born to Philip and Katie (Heick) Hoffman in New England, N. Dakota. The family moved to Roseburg and then when he was 12 they moved to Mt. Angel and he graduated from Mt. Angel Prep School in 1953.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He married Beverly Schnell in Salem in 1958, they divorced in 1982. He then married Joyce who precedes him in death.

He lived in the Coos Bay area for several years before settling in the Salem area.

Pete enjoyed working and building homes. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Salem.

He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Ted) Schmidt of Silverton, Pamela (Scott) Greer of Powder Springs, Georgia, Sally (Michael) Ladd of Pendleton; son, Tom (Tammy) Hoffman of Helena, Montana and sisters, Katheryn Wolf of Portland, Dorothy Ficq of Salem; and 8 grandchildren.

A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Mon., Jan. 4, 2015 and a Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tues., Jan. 5, 2015 both at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Angel. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Unger Funeral Chapel.
