Jake was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. Jake was a passionate man of God and was proud to have served his country in the United States Army.

Clarence "Jake" Phillips, 73, of Shadyside, Ohio died Thursday 24 December 2015 at the Shadyside Care Center. He was born 18 November 1942 in Powhatan Point Ohio, a son of the late Orville and Dorothy Vanness Phillips.

Jake was a retired employee of the Ohio Ferro Alloys Plant. He was an Apostolic Christian by faith and was a member of the Moundsville Moose Lodge. He proudly served in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Roger, Larry and Carl Phillips. He was also preceded in death by his ex wife Patricia "Patti" Phillips. Divorced but still loved one another.

Surviving are his three children: Samuel (Amy) of Saint Clairsville, Ohio, Laura (Brad Heiser) and Penny Jo ((Dale Byrd) of Shadyside, Ohio. His siblings are Kenneth (Marjorie) Phillips, Catherine (Larry) Glotfelty, Gary Phillips And William Jean Greer. His grandchildren Alicia (Kyle) Wright, Samantha, Morgan and Samuel Clarence Phillips.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside service Saturday at 2 PM at the Powhatan Point Cemetery with Reverend James Hoff officiating. A full Military Honors will be conducted by the Powhatan Honor Guard.
