OBITUARY:
Taken from a clipping from the Reynolds County Paper

The Death Angel came in our midst and took from us, Mary A.C. Williams, Oct 8th, 1915. Grandma Williams, as she was called by every one, was born in South Carolina, January 6th, 1832, making her 88 yrs., 9 months, and 2 days old.

She was converted at the age of 23, and immediately after united with the Presbyterian Church. She lived in that Church fifteen years, then joined the Methodist Church. Since that time, up to her death she was always an untiring laborer in The Master's Vineyard.

We often hear Christian people pray that God might make the last days of some aged person their happiest ones, and it seemed that God had been answering prayer in the case of Grandma Williams, for I never saw any person enjoy life better at her age than she did. It seemed that God gave her extra strength (physical) that she might enjoy the meeting we held in September near her home. To see that grand old sainted Mother sit on her seat during the hour of service and clap her hands for joy was one of the greatest means of grace in helping me to preach through the entire meeting.

In her homes (for she had many) she was so kind and loveable that all who came in contact with her were made better. She was one of the greatest Bible readers in the County. It is said by her children that she read her Testament through three and four times a year. It was my sacred privilege to take her much worn Testament from constant use and preach her funeral from the Text: 1st Peter 1:24, 25 which she had selected long before she died. Not only had she prepared herself in this life to meet her God, but had selected the text from which her funeral was preached.

She leaves behind six sons, one daughter, forty-five grand children, with a host of other relatives and friends to morn her loss, but thank God their loss is her gain.

May each one of those of her relatives and friends take her life for a pattern and prepare to meet her in peace around the Great White Throne.

Written by her unworthy pastor.

(The Bible verses are: 1st Peter 1:24, 25
"24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.")
[ I added the verses so you don't have to look them up..... Judy Williams Robbins.]
