Services for Gary Wayne Pugh, age 69 of Red Springs, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale with Rev. Tommy Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Harris Creek Cemetery near Winona. Gary went to be with his Lord and Savior for eternity on December 30, 2015. He was welcomed at the gates of Heaven by his wife of 44 years, Freddie Pugh; son, Jason Pugh; parents, Bill and Ruby Pugh; brothers, Emmett Wintters and Tommy Pugh; and sisters, Nora Pugh and Juanita Leach. He is survived by his brothers, William Pugh of Tyler; Gaston Pugh and Jimmy Pugh both of Red Springs; daughter, Kathi Pugh of Red Springs; son and daughter-in-law, John and April Pugh of Tyler; daughter-in-law, Tina Nguyen of Dallas; grandchildren, Abrial and Jacob Pugh both of Tyler; Jade Pugh, Sabrina Nguyen and Cecilia Nguyen both of Dallas; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. He was born April 11, 1946. Since the time he was diagnosed with diabetes in 1958 he amazed the doctors on many occasions as he faced a multitude of adversities and always emerged victorious from the battles. Gary enjoyed being around children of all ages and especially loved coaching Little League Baseball for many years. Even in his last days, visits from the children brought a sparkle to his eyes and an energy not seen at any other time. Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Camille, Johnny Garrett Jr., Marc Pugh, Josh Leach, Jeff Pugh and Jeffery Dowdle. Honorary pallbearer is Wes Pugh. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be may to the Hospice of East Texas Homeplace, 4111 University Blvd. Tyler, TX, 75701, or to Tyler Type One Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 196 Tyler, TX, 75701.
