Darrell graduated from Marshfield High school. He worked at Reyco for 41 years then for Dayco until his retirement. Darrell attended East Grand Church of Christ.
Darrell enjoyed many things in life. He belonged to the Antique Car Club, Fair Grove Historical Society, and The Early Day Gas Engine Association. Most of all he loved his family and to volunteer. He even won the Key to the City of Fair Grove and a couple of other awards for his time spent volunteering.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ellen Carter; his children and their spouses, Vickey Elkins, Richard Carter, Edward Carter, and Connie Bowden; his step-children and their spouses, Richard Gillenwaters and Gerry Gillenwaters. Also he surviving are his siblings and their spouses, Murlin Carter and Mabel Masters; and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
