Last Wednesday after a protracted illness, Mr. Maak Sr.(sic), succumbed to Death. He had been sickly for several years, but the disease became serious the past year.
Mr. Maak was one of the pioneer settlers of Manitowoc County. He was well liked by his many friends and relatives and the day of his funeral a large number of people gathered to escort him to his last resting place. He was interred Monday.

Mr. Maack was born 03 May 1824 in Lindenberg, Pomerania, and came to America in 1853. He settled in Town Mishicott where he has lived ever since.
The deceased, who reached the age of 80 yrs. 8 mos. 15 days, leaves a widow, 6 daughters and 2 sons.
The funeral was held Mon., 23 Jan.
