Gerald F. Bednarik, 90, of Morris, died Wednesday afternoon, December 30, 2015 at Park Pointe Healthcare and
Rehabilitation Center in Morris.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11:00 am Monday, January 04, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church with Rev. Edward J. Howe, CR officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on
Monday, January 04, 2016 from 9:30 am until time of service at the church. Military honors will be provided by the
Morris Color Guard.

Born March 10, 1925 in Ottawa, he was the son of Frank and Mary (Baietto) Bednarik. He graduated from Morris
High School with the class of 1943 and attended St. Ambrose College in Davenport, IA from 1947 to 1949. He was a
veteran of W.W.II and served in the U.S. Navy. Jerry was employed as senior buyer in purchasing at Caterpillar
Tractor Company in Joliet for 32 years, retiring in 1983.

He married Virginia Lee on April 22, 1977 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and they lived all of their
married life in Morris.

He is survived by four children, Gregory (Patricia) Bednarik of Fort Worth, TX, Joelyn (Martin) Anderson of LaSalle,
Jayne (Tom) Bruno of Olathe, KS and Kathleen (Dan) Holly of Murphys, CA; two grandchildren, Brent Bednarik and
Blaine Bednarik; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Virginia, on September 21, 2014; one brother, Dalton Bednarik and
one sister, Frances Wright.

He was a 90 year member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, life member of John Martin Steele Post 6049,
life member of American Legion post 294, life member of AMVETS, life member of Knights of Columbus 4th Degree,
member of the US Naval Armed guard and served on the Morris Color Guard for 20 years.

He was an avid golfer and devoted Notre Dame fan. Jerry enjoyed watching high school and college basketball and
football.

Memorials may be given to the Boy Scouts of America or Immaculate Conception School Fund.
