Keith S. Peterson, 89, of Rockford, died December 28, 2015 in his home. Born Dec. 15, 1926 in Pecatonica, the son of Frank E. and Elizabeth (McClure) Peterson. He married Nancy B. Bingeman in Rockford on May, 28, 1949. Keith served in the US Air Force during WWII in the South Pacific Theater. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He retired from J.I. Case in 1970 after 20 years of employment. He owned and operated Bing's Drive-In from 1952 to 1988. After his retirement from Bing's, he was a Ranger at Ingersoll Golf Course for several years. Keith loved working at the Drive-In, vegetable gardening, being on his tractor, golfing, and watching his children's and grandchildren's games and school activities. He was a great role model to two generations of young people, teaching a host of kids the value of hard work while still having a good time.

Survived by his wife of 66 years, Nancy; son, Keith (Deborah) Peterson; daughters, Nanci (Steve) Whetsel and Shirlee Aldrich; grandchildren, Shelley (Peter Mateyka) Irving, Robert "Robbie" (Meni Marinakas) Irving, Sarah (Josh Struse) Irving, Kendra (Billy) Fiorito, Keith "Buzz" (Monica Pena) Peterson, Crystal Samp, Jacob (Amelia Campbell) Aldrich, Emmalee Aldrich, and Heather (Jon) Freedlund; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Irving, Eleanor, Natelie, Angel, Max, Mikalah, and JJ; brother, Donald Peterson; and brothers-in-law, Grandison (Barbara) Bingeman and Stephen (Cherie) Bingeman.

Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Gerald and Charles; sisters-in-law, Thelma and Nina; and his beloved parents-in-law, Grant and Alta Bingeman. Special thanks to Dr. Brian Michalsen's office, VNA nurses and VNA Hospice.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1001 2nd Ave, Rockford with Pastor Frank Cyprys officiating.

Graveside service at 12:00 p.m. at Willwood Burial Park, Winnebaago County, Rockford, IL.
