Jill Marie Hatfield, 52, passed away on December 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Peoria, Illinois on September 24, 1963. During her battle against breast cancer, she fought until the very end. She fought beyond what any of us thought was possible, but we want everyone to know she did not lose this battle. She was very courageous and strong.
She will be remembered as a wonderful wife and amazing mother. She workedas a Dental Hygienist in Illinois, Maryland, and as a temporary hygienist in many offices around the triangle, including the offices of Dr. Thomas Schaaf and Dr. Adams and Dr. Cheek. However, Jill always said, “the greatest job I’ve ever had is being a mom!”. She loved to travel, anything Disney, and her loving pets.
Jill is survived by her husband, Bill Hatfield, children; Ben Hatfield and Kate Hatfield, father, Bill Cunningham, sisters; Lynn Ward and Julie Anderson, father-in-law, William Hatfield, Sr., Brother-in-laws; Pat & Mike Hatfield, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Cunningham, mother-in-law, Mary Hatfield, and brother-in-law, John Ward.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi, 11401 Leesville Rd., Raleigh with a visitation one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jill’s name to 1 in 9, (www.1in9.com). The family hopes to set up a charity in the near future to keep Jill’s memory and spirit alive.
