Bill Agee was born in Oklahoma and, except for his time in the military, he lived there all of his life. His biological father was Theo William Joseph "Bill" Morris. However, Elsie & Bill divorced not long after Billy's birth, but Bill .Morris, my grandfather, was never much of a father to Billy. In the 1930 U. S. Census, Billy is listed as Billy Morris, age 3. (His birthday wasn't until December 4th, so he hadn't yet turned 4 in 1930.) Elsie met Ben Agee, they married, and he adopted Billy (see 1940 U. S. Census). Ben and Elsie also had three children of their own.
Billy's paternal biological grandmother, my great-grandmother, lived in Henryetta, Oklahoma, and he visited her often. A photograph of them is included on this memorial.
Bill is buried in Sperry Rest Haven Cemetery in Osage County, Oklahoma. Also buried there are his wife, Imogene Tolbert Agee; his brother, George Franklin Agee; George's wife, Berna Dean (Brookey) Agee; his mother, Elsie Elizabeth (Lowry) Agee; his adoptive father, Benjamin Clarence Agee; and two of his three half-siblings, Amanda Cleo England Hassell & Tilford Hayward England.
Bill's brother Phil Agee died 30 March 2021, and is buried in West Lawn Cemetery in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Bill's only surviving sibling is Dixie R. (Agee) Hutchison (b. 1939) of Overland Park, Kansas.
