Clara was born on August 2, 1918 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Felix and Clara May (Chavous) McGhee. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and caregiver, Clara found great joy in providing a loving home for her family and friends to gather. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at Howard University in Washington, D.C. for a number of years. She was a member of Northwood Presbyterian church in Silver Spring, Maryland and most recently a member of First Baptist Church-Garmon Street in Warner Robins. In Snellville, she called Right Relationship Ministries her church home. A woman of strong faith, she served with Church Women United in any capacity asked of her. Clara loved people of all ages and especially enjoyed opening her home to many foster children throughout the years. She was a member of the AKA Sorority for 77 years, which was very important to her. Her life was so rich that it is barely scratched with few words. Clara’s rich life is a blessing and legacy that her family will proudly carry on. In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John A. Harvey, Sr. and son, John A. Harvey, Jr.
