CMSGT US AIR FORCE
WORLD WAR II
Joe D. Stewart 87, of Wheatland passed away February 16, 2011. Joe was a WWII veteran, serving our country and defending our freedom for 31 years in the United States Air Force. He retired from the Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1973 and held a Civil Service position for an additional 16 years.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, and five children; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his father Alfred, his brother James, and his grandson George.
Joe's top priorities throughout his life were his country and his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was well-known for his corny jokes and making everyone around him laugh. He was highly involved in his children's activities, coaching little league and girls' softball for many years. He taught us the value of working hard, the value of laughter, and the value of family. You were a good husband, a good father, and a good man Joe Stewart and we will always have you in our hearts. Graveside services will be at 11am on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Sierra View Memorial Park. Rev. Jim Anderson will be officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Beale Air Force Base Honor Guard.
