William L. Fenton

Pendleton
1939-2015

Bill passed peacefully Christmas Eve from complications due to vascular dementia.

He was born in 1939 in Hillsboro, Ore., and grew up in Portland. He served in the Army in Germany during the Lebanon Crisis.

Bill graduated from Portland State University with a master’s degree in teaching. He taught science labs at Portland State for several years before moving to Pendleton to run the Visual Aide Department and later the Department of Continuing Education.

He loved hunting, fishing, working on cars/and hanging out with friends at his “mini ranch” and coffee in the mornings with Bruce K. Most of all he loved his family and was happiest when doing things with them.

Bill is survived by wife of 50 years, Ruth; sons John (Rosemary) of Pendleton and Jason (Tori) of Hines, Ore.; daughter Jenifer (Jed) of Walla Walla, Wash.; grandchildren Riven Fenton of Pendleton, Rylan Fenton of North Carolina, Rachel and Sarah Fenton of Hines, Ore., Jared (Shellie) and Chet Volkman of Walla Walla, and Isabelle and Juliette Chapman of Pendleton; and great-granddaughter Molly Volkman. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and his faithful lab of six years, Zoey.

No service is planned. Condolences may be posted on the Burns Mortuary website, www.burnsmortuary.com
