Mrs. Mary Flenniken Curl, aged 81 years, died Tuesday, December 3, 1907, at the home of her son, George Curl, at Dayton, Ohio. The deceased was born near Carmichaels, May 5, 1826, and was a daughter of John W. Flenniken and Hettie Flenniken. She married Thomas Curl, who was for years, a hotel keeper here, and also interested in race horses. He died about 20 years ago. Mrs. Curl had been a member of the Presbyterian Church since childhood. She was a great-granddaughter of Lydia Darrah, of Revolutionary fame. Mrs. Curl is survived by five children, James of Carmichaels, John and Hugh of Cook City, Montana, George of Dayton, Ohio, Maimie Glennagle of St. Paul, Minnesota; three brothers, James D. and William Flenniken of Carmichaels, and A.S. Flenniken of Uniontown. Mrs. Curl was the second oldest child in the family, the oldest being Elias A. Flenniken, who died two years ago at the age of 81. The remains were brought to Carmichaels Thursday and services will be held Friday. Interment at Laurel Point cemetery.
