William Franklin Underwood, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Enos Underwood, was born in Penn township, Cass County, February 18, 1873. He departed this life December 23, 1908, aged 35 years, ten month and 5 days.
The deceased had been an invalid for more than a year, and realized he could not feel well. He was a patient sufferer and looked forward to the great change, telling his wife he was in the hands of the Lord, "His will, not mine, be done."
He was married to Gratia Irene Batson, September 4, 1898. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, one boy, Harold L., father, mother, one sister and an aged grandmother, with a host of relatives and friends.
Services were held Sunday afternoon at the M. P. church, Wakelee, the Woodmen and Royal Neighbors taking charge of it. Sermon by Rev. Scott of Penn; text, Isa. 38:1. Burial at Fish Lake Cemetery.

Byron Aldrich and wife were greatly shocked last Wednesday upon receiving the sad news of the death of her only brother; Wm Underwood. He went to Eau Claire and submitted to an operation which he and his relatives were given to understood, would be very simply and with no possible danger of serious results.
Soon after receiving the news they left for Eau Claire to bring the remains to his home in Wakelee.
He leaves a young wife, one small child, an aged mother and father and one sister to mourn his death.
