Jim married his best friend, Kahti Schneider, on July 10, 1982. He graduated from Mansfield Senior High School and after graduation was drafted into the Army. He was the owner-operator of Jim’s Shoe Store and Repair in Ashland for 52 years. Jim’s family, especially his grandchildren, was his everything. He had a beautiful sense of humor, which everybody loved about him.
He was a member of the Sons of Herman and the United States Army.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years, Kay Trine; children, Jimmy Trine of Mansfield, Michael Trine of Ashland, Robert (Donna) Griggs of Fairfield, Jamie (Ken) Wright of Perry, Laurie (Greg) Gleisinger of Mansfield, and Pete (Andrea) Griggs of Delaware; sixteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Linda; parents; sister, Marlene; and brother, Wayne.
The family will receive friends from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2016, in the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with his son-in-law, Pastor Ken Wright officiating.
