Willard (Willo) Fred Brooks, age 70, born December 22, 1945 was called home to be with God on Monday, December 28, 2015 at UT Medical Center, Knoxville, TN.


He was a disabled Vietnam War veteran of the United States Army.



He was preceded in death by his parents, Clure and Lolita Brooks, grandparents, Stoke and Laura Brooks and Bill and Ethel Vickers, granddaughter, Amy Leann Taylor, son in law, Darrell McGinnis, and brother-in-law, Curtis Turner, Jr.


He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lois; three daughters; Cherry (James Jr.) Cody, Nicki McGinnis, and Jennifer (Kenneth) Hook, one son; Cooper Moore, grandchildren; Kim Taylor and Rebecca Scalf, great-grandchildren; Adreanna Bailey and James Casey Beckner. His brothers; Billy (Wanda) Brooks, Carl Brooks, sisters; Shirley (Dan) Crum, Barbara Turner, and Darlene Thompson; several nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.


Funeral Service will be 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Mayes Family Services, Downtown Chapel with Rev. Robert White officiating. Military graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2015. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
