Sarah Esther Walling
Sarah Esther Walling. the daughter of Joseph and Jennie Smith Bogue was born Dec 11, 1892, and passed from this life on June 28, 1966, at the age of 78 years, six months. and 17 days.
Esther was the sixth in a family of seven children. She was born at Greenville, Decatur County, Iowa, and had the fortune of being in a family taught the doctrine of the Restoration [gospel] at a very early age. Esther united with the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Sept. 8, 19(0?)7 and remained steadfast in faith and service to the end.
On Dec 6, 1914, Esther was united in marriage to Guy B. Walling. To this union were born three sons: Everett of Lamoni, Francis of Marshalltown, and G. Raymond of Arvada, Colo. These three sons as was Esther herself, were taught in their youth in the very best of their mother's [illegible] and they have had her constant support, guidance, and prayers throughout her entire life.
One of her greatest desires was that they each would come to understand their individual responsibility before God and that she be that good example and witness. Each of her sons have and will become increasingly aware of her love and concern for them.
Esther will be remembered by all who knew her as a tireless worker for everything she believed in.
Esther leaves to mourn her passing her three sons and their wives, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one brother, Chancey E. Bogue of Triplett, Mo., two sisters, Alta Vandel of Deer Lodge, Mont., and Herma Work of Lamoni, Iowa, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her husband, Guy B. Walling, one granddaughter, Judith Ann Walling, two brothers, Loyd L. Bogue and Arthur W. Bogue, and one sister, Chrisie, have preceded her passing.
The service at the Lamoni RLDS church was conducted by Elders James A. Thomas and V. D. Ruch. Interment was at Rose Hill.
