"Frederick C Penoyer, 79, of Spartansburg, RD 2, died unexpectedly Saturday evening at Fort Lauderdale, Fla, where he had been spending the winter. He was born March 20, 1887, in Sparta Township, the son of Mr and Mrs Charles Penoyer. On July 5, 1906 (sic) [July 5, 1905], he married the former Junia Smith. Mr Penoyer was a retired farmer and a member of the Titusville Eagles Club. Besides his wife, Junia, he is survived by four sons - Durwood Penoyer of Clearfield, Harold Penoyer of Adina (sic) [Adena], Ohio, Walter Penoyer of Hopedale, Ohio, and Lawrence Penoyer of Spartansburg, RD 3; four daughters - Mrs Carlos (Beatrice) Cox of Spartansburg, RD 2, Mrs Frank (Madeline) Gigliotti of Fort Lauderdale, Fla, Mrs Sanford (Adah) Forgays of Adina (sic) [Adena], Ohio, and Mrs Howard (Roberta) Brown of Toledo, Ohio; 27 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. A son, Norman Penoyer, died in 1939. Friends may call at the H Richard Hays Funeral Home at Spartansburg...and attend the funeral service there at 2 pm Wednesday. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Spartansburg."
