Dale Lee Blevins, age 68, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, December 28, 2015 from the Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol, Tennessee. Lee was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Wiley Robert Blevins and Myrtle Carrier Blevins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles Lee Blevins; and three brothers, Robert Steve Blevins, Dennis Ike Blevins, and Roy Blevins.

Lee was retired as a machinist and was the owner and operator of Blevins Machine and Tool. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and served on the cemetery committee. He enjoyed camping, fishing, NasCar races, and spending time with his grandchildren, who were the joy of his life.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years, Carolyn Perry Blevins, of the home; a daughter, Cena Howerton and husband Brady, of Rutledge, TN; a daughter-in-law, Janean Blevins, Elizabethton; two grandsons, Caleb Blevins, Elizabethton and Seth Howerton, Toyama, Japan; two granddaughters, Alyceson Blevins, Elizabethton and Kara Howerton, Rutledge, TN; three sisters, Judy Post and husband Joe, Elizabethton, Hassie Eads and husband Frank, Bluff City, and Elizabeth Patrick, Elizabethton; three brothers, Jerry Blevins and wife Brenda, Elizabethton, Phil Blevins and wife Kathy, Jonesborough, and Mac Blevins and wife Doris, Elizabethton; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Connie Blevins and Marie Blevins, both of Elizabethton, Bernice McAninch, Patty Simerly and husband Kenny, and Larry Perry and wife Betty, all of Elizabethton, and Kenneth Gene Perry and wife Gerlinde, Loganville, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Mr. Dale Lee Blevins will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Eric Brown, Rev. Marty Shelton, and Rev. Norman Markland, officiating. Music will be provided by his grandchildren, Seth Howerton, Alyceson Blevins and her friend, Madison Jaynes. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Wednesday; or at the residence at any time.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 31, 2015 in the Emmert Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Blevins, Brandon Blevins, Travis Blevins, Robbie Blevins, Chase Simerly, Todd Perry, Andy Hilton, Logan Hurt, and Berley Clemons. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Brummitt, Joe Buckles, Jerry Berry, Joe Carr, Danny Jones, Ron Cretsinger, David Ellison, Jerry Lyons, Jack Bunten, Ken Howerton, Keith Walker, Jim Kyser, Voyd Hopson, and Josh Hathaway. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton at 10:30 AM on Thursday, to go in procession.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lee’s special caregivers and the staff of Sycamore Shoals ICU and Select Specialty Hospital for all the love and care shown to Lee and his family.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to Harmony Baptist Church, 130 Keenburg Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643 to help with the Emmert Cemetery upkeep or the Children’s Ministry at Harmony Baptist Church.
