Mr. Michael was one of the most successful dairy farmers in this section until his retirement in 1921. At that time he purchased the Ogle farm on the Baltimore Pike where he resided until eight years ago when he moved to the city to his present residence.
Mr. Michael was one of the founders of the Peoples Drug Company of Maryland, which in 1926 was sold to the Peoples Drug Stores of Washington, DC. He was interested in various enterprises in Frederick, and at the time of his death was president of the City Business Properties, Inc. He was well-known throughout the city and county and his quiet and easy manner won him a large group of friends. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church and Sunday school for many years and was particularly interested in the activities of the Men's Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura Shorb Michael, two daughters, Mrs. Earl H. Howard, Hagerstown; and Mrs. R. Dean Stickell, Frederick; two brothers, William O. Michael, near Frederick, and Leo H. Michael, Buckeystown; two grandchildren.
Services were held at the late home; interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery; C.E. Cline and Son were the funeral directors.
