He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church and until he became ill was a director of the Frederick County National Bank. He resided for many years on a farm on the then southwestern outskirts of this city, where the Westbrook residential development is now located, just west of the Watkins Acres. He took part in farm activities in this section for a number of years and for some years was the president of the Frederick County Milk Producers Association, which then shipped milk to the local dairies.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ida M. Thomas, Libertytown, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the M.R. Etchison and Son funeral home; interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
