Janie Frances Cunningham Hughes, age 83, a resident of Oak Haven Assisted Living in Lexington, TN died the morning of Dec. 25, 2015 of natural causes.
Ms. Janie, born in 1932 was the daughter of the late James "Tom" Cunningham and Gladys McLemore Cunningham of Lavinia, TN. She was a graduate of Gibson County High and West Tennessee Business College and retired from Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Jackson TN.
She was the wife of the late Lester W. Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Annie Mae Cunningham and Rupert J. Cunningham, and step brother Robert "Sparky" Gowan.
A memorial service will be held at Highland Park Baptist Church, 1102 Campbell St, Jackson TN on Sunday January 3rd, 2015 at 2 pm. Her burial will be done as a private service at Lathem's Chapel Baptist Church in Lavinia, TN. In lieu of flowers the family request honorariums be sent to Highland Park Baptist Church Children's Ministries or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
