A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late James Howell Brooks and the daughter of Ernest Mansfield and Margaret Campbell Mansfield, both deceased. She retired from AT&T and was a member of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA). Eleanor attended Trinity Presbyterian Church where she was a member of The Joy Group.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Rich and husband Jerry and Debbie Wallace and husband Lawrence, all of Burlington; son, Rodney Brooks and wife Denise of Burlington; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ernestine Butler and three brothers, Darrell Mansfield, Jimmy Mansfield and Edgar Mansfield.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. by Pastor Bruce Wheeler with the family receiving friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Other times the family will be at the home of the daughter, Debbie Wallace, 2942 Snug Harbor Road, Burlington, NC.
