Mrs. Verna Mae Phillips Judy, age 92 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on November 5, 2016, at Dyer Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Judy will be conducted on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Dyer with Bro. Mark Kirkpatrick officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Dyer, Tennessee.
Mrs. Judy was born April 15, 1924 in Dyer, Tennessee; the daughter of the late George Vernon and Nancy Louise Taylor Oliver. Mrs. Judy was a loving mother, grandmother, and homemaker.
Mrs. Judy is survived by her son Johnny Phillips and wife Linda; two granddaughters, Jessica Rice, and Joni Thomas; four great grandchildren, John Carter Phillips, Anna Claire Rice, Conner Thomas, Luke Thomas; five sisters, Evelyn Bunch, Elena Isbell, Martha Mosley, Margaret McCaslin, Marie Workman; two brothers, J.W Oliver, and Robert Oliver. Mrs. Judy was preceded in death by first husband John B. Phillips; second husband, Finis Judy; her parents; two brothers, George Oliver, Eugene Oliver; and one sister Janet Thompson.
