Former Klamath Falls resident Cheryl Ann Howard, aged 72, died Dec. 19, 2015, in Las Cruces, N.M. Cheryl was born on Aug. 7, 1943, to Herbert and May Belle (Blake) Willey in Klamath Falls. She attended Klamath Union High School and graduated in June of 1961. She went on to attend college at Oregon State University.

In 1967, Cheryl married Vern Howard in Klamath Falls. She had lived the past year in Las Cruces under the loving care of her sister, Donna Rousseau. A dedicated mother, Cheryl enjoyed gourmet cooking, decorating for holidays, and celebrating special family events. She also found pleasure in gardening, especially the ability to grow bright, beautiful flowers, as well as raising Amazon parrots.

She worked at NASA's Johnson Space Center from 1967 to 1969 and again from 1985 until 2002.

Survivors include her three sons, Brian Howard of Reno, Nev., Blake Howard of Amity, Ore., and Kevin Howard of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Donna (Willey) Rousseau of Las Cruces; and six grandchildren.

Cremation was held in Las Cruces. Cheryl's ashes will be returned to the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Kelso, Wash., where her parents also lie in rest.
