Evening Times; Maryland, Saturday, February 19, 1956: “FROSTBURG—Thomas Cunningham,79, of Zihlman, husband of Janie (Allen) Cunningham, died Friday in Miner's Hospital.  He was a son of the late Patrick and Martha (Mattingly) Cunningham.  He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus.  Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Stephenson, Baltimore, and Gertrude Cunningham, Arlington, Va.; a son, John F. Cunningham, at home; two sisters, Mary and Agnes Cunningham, Cumberland, and a granddaughter.  The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home.  A requiem mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 9:30 a. m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Frank Markey, Leroy Crowe, John Davis, Leavy Fabbri, Hugh Nolan and Joseph Finn.  The Frostburg Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society of St. Michael's will recite the rosary today at 8 p. at the Hafer Funeral Home.”
