Leland P. Weber, 28, of 7624 Cty. Trk. C, Manitowoc, died Saturday evening, March 13, as a result of an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. James J. Stamborski will officiate and burial will be in St. Casimir Cemetery, Northeim.

Mr. Weber was born July 23, 1953, at Manitowoc, son of Albert E. and Jean L. Basel Weber. He was educated at Manitowoc public schools and was a 1971 graduate of Lincoln High School. He was employed at Meadow Links. Mr. Weber was a member of St. Andrew Athletic Association and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 706.

Survivors include his parents, Albert and Jean Weber of Manitowoc; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bert E. and Beth Weber of Springfield, Ill. and Gregory and Peggy Weber of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nancy and Richard Meihsner of Manitowoc, and Susan Weber and Michael Holschbach of Manitowoc; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Leona Basel of Manitowoc; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Anna Weber of Manitowoc; two nephews, Justin Weber and Lucas Weber of Tucson, Ariz.; two nieces, Leah Weber of Springfield, Ill., and Abby Meihsner of Manitowoc; uncles, aunts and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers.

There will be no visitation.

Two fatalities reported in county

MANITOWOC – The county's first traffic fatalities of the year occurred Saturday night and early Sunday, in the towns of Newton and Cato.

Leland P. Weber, 28, of 7624 County Trunk C, Manitowoc, died when his car struck a parked vehicle on "C", about five tenths of a mile west of Gass Lake Road, at 10:30 p.m. Saturday. The parked vehicle belonged to Peter A. Thede, Sheboygan.

Leroy A. Sebo, 18, of 113 McKinley St., Valders, died when his car crashed off the junction of Morgan Road and Highway 148, at 1:45 a.m. Sunday. His car struck a tree head-on on the west side of 148.

Deputy County Coroner Richard Wood said both victims were pronounced dead at the scenes from chest injuries.
