Cecilia Wadzinski, age 102, a resident of St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at the home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Thomas Wojciechowski O.F.M.. with burial at St. Casimir Cemetery, Northeim.

She was born Nov. 9, 1901, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late Julius and Constance Zych Konopacki. Cecilia attended St. Stanislaus School, Milwaukee. On Oct. 24, 1922, she married John E. Wadzinski in Northeim. She and her husband, John, owned and operated The Newton Meat & Sausage Co. for many years, retiring in 1951. He preceded her in death April 28, 1980. Cecilia was a longtime resident of St. Mary's Home where she was active in the choir and enjoyed many activities at the home.

Survivors include a daughter: LaVerne Wetenkamp, Manitowoc; a daughter-in-law: Betty Wadzinski, Manitowoc; six grandchildren: Gary and Pat Wadzinski, Ron Wadzinski, Bobby Wetenkamp, Lee and Vicki Wetenkamp, Ricky Wetenkamp; 11 great-grandchildren: Jaime, Lindsay and Chase Wetenkamp, Brock and Tyler Wetenkamp, Shannie Walsh, Jon (Lisa) Wadzinski, Jyl (Steve) Posto, Marc Wadzinski and his fiancée, Heidi, Erin Wadzinski, Shannon Wadzinski and three great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are niece, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a son: John Wadzinski on Sept. 18, 1993; a son-in-law: Gerald Wadzinski on June 28, 1992; a granddaughter: Jann Wetenkamp; a brother and a sister.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of service at 11 a.m.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The family extends a special thank you in the nurses and staff at St. Mary's Home for the wonderful care given to Cecilia and her family the past 15 years.
