Obituary

George L. Blohowiak, 89, Kunesh, died peacefully Saturday evening, December 26, 2015, at his home. The son of George and Catherine (Splan) Blohowiak was born July 29, 1926 in Green Bay and lived in the Kunesh area most of his life. George was a US Navy veteran of WWII, serving his country from 1944-1947.

On September 6, 1947, he married Hazel Stender. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on January 5, 2011. George enjoyed all things about cars, and especially enjoyed his Model A (and the other 50 or 60 that he owned … he could never pass up a good deal!). Later in life, George made hundreds of birdhouses, which he gifted to family and friends.

Survivors include his children: Michael (Linda) Blohowiak, Patrick (Kathleen) Blohowiak, Peter Blohowiak, Mary (Tim) Staszak, Amy (Craig) Hewitt, Paula Blohowiak, and Tim (Gail) Blohowiak; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters-in-law: Melvin (Rosemary), Donald, and Delores.

In addition to his wife, Hazel, he was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, and in-laws: Gordon, Lorraine (Bill) Gore, Virginia (Howard) Archambeau, and Esther Blohowiak.

Friends are invited to gather with the family at Peace Lutheran Church, 1954 Co. Rd. U (Green Bay), Kunesh, on Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Pastor Stuart Dornfeld officiating, followed by military honors by the Pulaski area veterans.
