Sophia Catherine King, born December 22, 1949, in Harlingen, Texas, passed away December 18, 2008, at the age of 58. A courageous, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, Sophia will dearly be missed by us all.
She enjoyed every minute she spent with her grandchildren, plants and flowers, friends, church and her OLOFF adventures.
Sophia is survived by her loving husband, Tommy W. King; children, Melissa Cudd and husband, Robert, Melanie C. King and fiancé, Derek Shepherd, and Tommy W. King, Jr. and wife, Candice; grandchildren, Mason and Meagan Cudd, Hannah and Hudson King; parents, Thomas J. and Catherine Rains; siblings, Thomas J. Rains, Jr., Barbara Schroeder Hill and husband, Larry, Jean Pearce and husband, Larry, and Michael Rains and wife, Roxanne; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2008, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
