LEWIS THEODORE KREH, one of the last surviving members of the cigar-making trade which flourished here a half-century ago, died Tuesday at the residence, 351 Madison street, after an illness which began last October 1. He had observed his 84th birthday on New Years Day.

He was a son of Peter and Elizabeth Hax Kreh, natives of Germany who came to Frederick in 1848. He was born here and had spent his entire life in this city. For many years he operated a cigar-making shop on South Market street. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church and the United Fire Company.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Cora I. Kreh, and a son, Howard L. Kreh, both at home; and a brother, John F. Kreh, Frederick.

Services were held at the Harry E. Carty Co. funeral home; interment was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
