Katherine Amanda Hawkins, 62, of Ocala, Florida, passed away December 27, 2015 with her family at her side. She was born June 17, 1953 in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, to Elmer and Audrey (Gilchrist) Carroll. Katherine is survived by her children, Kirsten and Jeff Hawkins, and her mother, Audrey. In lieu of flowers, Jeff and Kirsten Hawkins have created the Kathy Hawkins Scholarship fund to honor their mother's legacy of service to others through her work as a teacher at Fort King Middle School. The scholarship fund will benefit students of Vanguard High School who excel in academics and athletics who are pursuing a college education. There will be a Celebration of Life, Sunday, January 3rd, from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at the Best Course Farm, 3167 NW 165th Street, Citra, Florida 32113.
