Funeral services for Gladys Louise Lockey Ratcliff, 83, of Cotton Valley, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the Unity Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Cecil Marr officiating. A eulogy will be spoken by Mark Windham. Burial will follow at Cotton Valley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Cotton Valley.

Visitation was to begin at 9 a.m. today at Bailey Mortuary in Cotton Valley.

Mrs. Ratcliff, a native and lifelong resident of this area, died Sunday, January 7, in Minden. She was a retired employee of the Louisiana Department of Transportation with 25 years of service and was a homemaker. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Hayward Ratcliff; her parents, Jesse Edward and Lennie Miller Lockey; sisters, Virginia Coker and Jessie Mae Wilson Clark; brothers, Lynn Lockey, Buddy Lockey and Bill Lockey; grandson, Teddy Dwayne Blackmon; and great-grandson, Ryan Dwane White.

She is survived by daughters, Juanita Ratcliff of Jonesboro, Judy Anne Jackson, Jeanie Striplin and husband Benny, Joy Dick and husband Ronnie, all of Cotton Valley, and Janice Kaylor and husband Steve of Ivan; sons, Jimmy Ratcliff and wife Donna, Joe Ratcliff and wife Kathy, Jackie Ratcliff and wife Pam, all of Cotton Valley; brother, Barto Lockey and wife Willie Jean of El Dorado, Ark.; sister, Joyce Ann Edwards and husband Eugene of Cotton Valley; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and a special friend, Billie Garrett.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jamie Striplin, Jessie Striplin, Jason Striplin, Bob Ratcliff, Michael Ratcliff, Jeff Ratcliff, Jimmie Dick, Justin Dick, Hayward Ratcliff and Paul Striplin Jr.
