Anita (Price)” GiGi” Watson, 93, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
Funeral services will on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Calvary Baptist Church in Merkel,TX. Rev. Matt McGowan will officiate. Interment will follow at Newman Cemetery.
There will be a family visitation on Thursday, October 18,2018 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at McCoy Funeral Home.
Anita born on September 19, 1925 in Hawley, TX to parents Hershel and Jessie Price. She graduated from Sylvester High School. She married James Lloyd Watson on November 23, 1944 in Anson, TX. She loved sewing and reading books. Anita loved baking (she made amazing cinnamon rolls) and loved taking care of her grandchildren.
Survivors are her son, Gary Watson and wife Teresa of Sweetwater; sister, Cora Isenburg of Merkel; daughters-in-law, Iris Watson of Sweetwater and Kim Watson of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Lacy Watson and husband Andrew Teel of Sweetwater, Kevin Watson and wife Christy of Sweetwater, Patrick Watson of Sweetwater, Brandon Watson of Sweetwater, Kelly Hartman of Sweetwater, Laurie Huett and husband Brian of Sweetwater, and James Weldon Watson of Abilene; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband, James Lloyd Watson on May 3 1972; a son, James Lee Watson on February 17, 2017; two sisters, Daisy and Winona; and two brothers, Eldon and Adrian (C.A.).
Pallbearers will be Patrick Watson, Brandon Watson, Kevin Watson, Jacoby Watson, Rusty Isenburg, Andrew Teel.
