Daughter of James Matthews and Sarah Stewart. Wife of Peter Terrell Fite. Went by the name "Elizabeth".

There are family stories that have been passed down that she had "premonitions" or "ESP". We were told that she knew a child was going to die, right before it did (it was going round, and around a porch post, and a horse was tied to another porch post. She said "poor little thing, that's the last time he/she will go around", and then suddenly, the horse pulled on the porch post, and pulled down the roof and killed the child). I believe this was one of her own children.

She was always very religious, and read her Bible a lot.

Late in her life, she had dementia (probably what would now be called Alzheimer's disease).

Ray on 9/21/1877, Putnam County, TN. (Rebecca Ray Fite is buried at Texas State Cemetery, Austin, Travis County, TX). He fought on the Confederate side during the Civil War.
- Permilla Fite (b. 1836, Overton County, TN; d. Unknown)
- Winny Belle Caroline Fite Bilbrey (b. Dec 27, 1838, Overton County, TN; d. Oct 28, 1926, Pickett County, TN) (see Find A Grave Memorial# 44875680). Married James Jefferson "Jefferson" Bilbrey.

- Nancy Jane Fite Evans (b. 1846, Overton County, TN; d. aft. 1880, burial location unknown). Married Euin Shelby "Shelby" Evans in 9/1869.
