On October 4, 1946, she was united in marriage with Wayne Russell Hayes at Zion Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. The family moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1968 and Eva then worked for Blue Cross as a Specialist for fifteen years.
Eva was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant where she was very active with church activities including being a member of the Women's Guild. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, putting puzzles together and cooking.
Survivors include her children: Gary and Ann Hayes of Mt. Pleasant, Shari and Gary Goodrich of Pardeeville, Wisconsin, Diane and Tom Armour of Shepherd, Keith Hayes of Lake City, Cindy and Gary Rubingh of Mt. Pleasant and Dave and Lenore Hayes of Rock, Michigan. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband Wayne on November 21, 2013, both parents, three brothers, Ruben, Clarence and Eugene and a sister Edna.
A service celebrating Eva's life was held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor Jonathon Bakker officiating. Interment followed the service in Memorial Gardens beside her husband, Wayne.
