She was born in Monroe, Louisiana on November 20, 1935 and relocated to California where she met her late husband, Leamon Garrett. They were married for 60 years. Geraldine loved life, her family, and her church (St. John MBC, Oceanside). She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, LeGina Garrett; her brother, Krispin J. Kogo; her aunt, Philmon Taylor; her step mother, Annie Davis; her step brother, Jessie Ward; her first cousins Mary Ann McCarty, and Elisha Brown; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A Viewing will be held at 11 am with a Celebration of Life at 12 noon on December 30, 2015 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Oceanside, CA. Pastor Webb will be officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside National Cemetery on January 5, 2016 at 11 am. Oceanside Mortuary is handling funeral arrangements.
