Joy Bollschweiler Rose, 86, our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, died Friday, December 25, 2015 in Holladay of natural causes.

She was born August 23, 1929 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of George Rupper and Verda Peterson Bollschweiler.

She married Donald Wayne Rose on April 14, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Joy loved her husband and family and enjoyed doing things with them, such as camping, hiking, boating, and spending time together at their summer cabin. She also received great pleasure in putting together their family history.

Joy's family knew that they could count on her to be at all important events in their life to cheer for them so they could know that she loved and supported them.

Joy was active in the LDS Church throughout her life, serving as Primary teacher and secretary, Stake Primary Secretary, Relief Society Counselor and Secretary, Stake Missionary, and Assistant to the Ward Clerk for many years.

Joy served as secretary to her husband, who was a Stake Patriarch. She typed more than four hundred Patriarchal Blessings. She also enjoyed serving a full-time mission with her husband in the Oregon Eugene Mission.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Rose, Millcreek; and five sons and one daughter, Larry (Paula) Rose, Bountiful; Randy's wife, Eileen Rose, North Carolina; Keith Rose, Vernal; Scott (Anita) Rose, Bountiful; Craig (DeeAnne) Rose, South Jordan; Sharon (Kevin) Crockett, Cedar Hills; and Glen (Shelly) Rose, Cedar Hills. Also survived by thirty grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and brother's wife, Judy Bollschweiler, Nampa, Idaho. Preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Rose; son, Randy Rose; and brother, Robert P. Bollschweiler.

The family expresses thanks to the caring residents and wonderful staff at The Cottonwood Place Memory Care and to the competent and caring staff at Brighton Hospice.
