Larry Franks

was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on January 2, 1948 the son of the late Russell and Linnie Mae Wade Franks.

On April 12, 1968 he was united in marriage to Barbara Gail Middleton, who survives.

Mr. Franks worked for the United States Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier for 25 years and was a member of the National Rural Letter Carrier Association. He had also worked for Franks Amoco for 14 years, L.G. Webb's Amoco for about 10 years. Mr. Franks was also a sawmill owner and owned Savannah Flea Market. He loved antiques, collectibles, auctions, and sales. He took care of his relatives, and loved his family and grandson. Mr. Franks was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and the Local Union Stewart in Savannah, Tennessee. He served his community as County Commissioner for 24 years, Budget Committee Chairman, and the Hardin County Beer Board.

Mr. Franks departed this life on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the age of 60 years, 11 months, 2 days.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Franks is survived by a son: Joey Franks and his wife Kristina of Savannah, Tennessee; a grandson: Jackson Chandler Franks of Savannah, Tennessee; a sister: Catherine Lowe of Olive Hill, Tennessee; 6 brothers: Odell Franks, Benny Franks, Joe Franks, Eddie Walton Franks all of Savannah, Tennessee, Archie Franks of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, and Jamie Wade Franks of Virginia.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Franks was preceded in death by a sister: Betty Ruth Pickens.
