Mrs. Clara B. Bowen, 1203 Pershing avenue, died in St. Luke's hospital at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday following an illness of two weeks.

Mrs. Bowen was born Aug. 1, 1880 in What Cheer, Ia., and when a child moved to Indianapolis, Ia.,? where she was reared and educated. She married Homer Bowen Dec. 27, 1897 in Sigourney, Ia., and in 1923 they moved to Davenport from Brighton, Ia. She was a member of St. John's Methodist church.

Surviving are her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Bessie Conrad, Davenport, Mrs. Grace Knerr, Baraboo, Wis., Mrs. Ada Meinert, Mrs. Margaret Lobsien, all of Davenport;; two sons, Fred D., Rock Island, and Glenn R. Bowen, Davenport; 13 grandchildren; a great grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Adams, What Cheer, Mrs. Lillie Wharton and Mrs. Maud Rhinhart, both of Oskaloosa, Ia., three brothers, Robert Beach, Oskaloosa, Charles, Sigourney, and Howard Beach, Barnes City, Ia. One brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Runge chapel followed by burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
