Elam Russell Lewellen was born January 1, 1856, and although his Death Certificate has his place of birth as Tennessee, several census records have it as Alabama.
He was married on July 28, 1877 in Williamson County, Tennessee to Mary Ann Fields (1859-1931), the daughter of Samuel P "Sam" Fields (1837–1912) and Rachel Caledonia (Sledge) Fields (1838–1917).
He had been a farmer in Cheatham and Montgomery counties, but he was 78 years old, a widow and living at 1111 Stockell Street out of Nashville, when he died at home of apoplexy on December 21, 1934. Burial was the next day in Mount Herman Cemetery at Hickory Point.
Most of the above is from his Death Certificate, with P V Lewellen of 1111 Stockell Street as the informant.
